BODY20 review: EMS studio sessions instead of a suit

BODY20 does not sell a suit. It sells coached 20-minute sessions in franchise studios. That makes it a different kind of choice, so we describe it without a device score.

What BODY20 is

BODY20 is a US franchise of boutique studios offering one-to-one and small-group EMS sessions of 20 minutes. Franchise directories list roughly 60 to 67 studios. BODY20 does not sell a home suit.

Which device it uses

BODY20 says it uses an “FDA-cleared suit” but does not name the device, and there is no FDA record under the BODY20 name. That is normal for a studio, which is a user of equipment and not a manufacturer. If it matters to you, ask your studio which system it runs.

What it costs

Prices are set by each studio and are not published centrally. Third-party sources put a session at roughly $30 to $80. At one session a week that is about $1,500 to $4,000 a year, similar to the purchase price of a home suit. See the cost guide.

Why a studio is a good benchmark

Supervised sessions are exactly what the 2023 international guideline recommends: a trained person sets your intensity and watches how you respond.[1] For beginners, that is the safest way to start EMS.

Who it suits

People who want coaching and accountability, and beginners who want to learn how EMS should feel before buying their own suit. If you train long term, a subscription-free home suit becomes cheaper after about a year. Our advice: start supervised, then decide. Read home vs studio.
